Advertising, affiliate and sponsorship disclosure
Last updated:
Truth with Data is free to read. This page explains how it makes money and how we keep that separate from what our analysis finds.
Display advertising
We show adverts served by Google AdSense. Google chooses which ads appear; we do not choose individual advertisers and we do not endorse them. Ads appear in clearly separated spaces, never inside a chart or a table of results. See our privacy and cookie policy for how ad cookies work and how to change your choices.
Affiliate links
Some articles and tools link to products or services, such as books, courses, software, savings accounts or mortgage comparison sites. Some of those links are affiliate links: if you buy or sign up after clicking, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
- Articles that contain affiliate links say so near the top, before the first link.
- Affiliate links are marked in the page code so search engines know they are commercial (
rel="sponsored"). - We only link to things relevant to the question the article answers. Whether a product pays us a commission does not affect our analysis or which options we discuss.
- We do not give personal financial advice. Where an article covers mortgages, savings or investments, compare the whole market and consider regulated advice for your situation.
Sponsored articles
Occasionally a company pays us to write about a topic. Sponsored articles are:
- labelled “Sponsored” on the blog listing and at the top of the article, naming the sponsor;
- written by us, using the same methods, sources and standards as every other article;
- published whatever the result. Sponsors may check facts about their own products, but cannot change our findings, conclusions or charts.
Our own products and services
We sell digital products, such as e-books, courses and templates, and offer data analysis and consultancy. When an article mentions one of our own products or services, it is clear that it is ours.
