How to Use
- Enter values for Variable X (separated by commas, spaces, or new lines)
- Enter corresponding values for Variable Y in the same order
- Ensure both variables have the same number of values
- Click "Calculate Correlation" to see both Pearson and Spearman correlations
Understanding Correlation
Correlation measures the strength and direction of the relationship between two variables.
- Pearson (r): Measures linear relationship between variables. Best for normally distributed continuous data.
- Spearman (ρ): Measures monotonic relationship using ranks. Better for non-linear relationships or ordinal data.
- Range: Both coefficients range from -1 to +1
- +1: Perfect positive correlation (as X increases, Y increases)
- 0: No correlation
- -1: Perfect negative correlation (as X increases, Y decreases)
Interpretation Guide
- 0.00 - 0.19: Very weak correlation
- 0.20 - 0.39: Weak correlation
- 0.40 - 0.59: Moderate correlation
- 0.60 - 0.79: Strong correlation
- 0.80 - 1.00: Very strong correlation
